How the Smart-Fit Algorithm Works
This is a rule-based estimate, not a scan or a guess, and we’re direct about that difference. It starts from a baseline band-and-cup pairing tied to your dress or shirt size, for example, a US 8–10 dress size maps to a starting estimate around a 34-inch band and a B/C cup range. From there, it adjusts based on two things you tell it: how your current band feels (loose, tight, or right) and how your current cups feel (gapping, spilling, or right).
Each adjustment shifts the estimate in a specific direction: a loose-feeling band shifts the band size down two inches; a tight-feeling band shifts it up two inches. Cups that gap at the top shift the cup letter down one step; cups that spill over shift it up one step. The result is a smarter starting point than dress size alone, but it’s still an estimate built from self-reported feel, not a physical measurement.
When to Trust It: and When to Grab a Tape Measure Instead
The Smart-Fit estimate works best as a quick starting point when you’re shopping and don’t have a private space to measure, or when you want a rough size before your measuring tape arrives. It’s noticeably less reliable if your current bra doesn’t fit you well to begin with. The whole method depends on your sense of “loose” or “tight” being calibrated to something reasonably close to correct already.
